The next AFFORDABLE compact truck

Hello All,
Since the ranger is near the end and some of the other manufactures seem to want out of the compact truck market at this point what will the alternative be in the next few years?

Mahindra keeps making noise but so far nothing has happened that I know of?

Dodge will bring in the Fiat 500 car and I read something about the chance there might be a Ram 50 or the Fiat Strada truck?

VW is working on a truck but it is a long way from a compact or an affordable vehicle

Have you guys go any new about upcoming compact truck models?

vw is selling the truck here in latin america. so far it seems very well built. its called amarok. 2.0 biturbo diesel

that might work if they had it in an extended cab (longer bed) and 4x4.

VW is also bringing back the old style van...welcome back Caravan!!! Great to see a company can expand so much...I had VWs when I was grong up and had them even when I turned 40 a while back!!! Never had any trouble with them...they last forever.

it is 4wd, just dont expect a solid axle on front LOL
my brother drove one and he says it has good power, but being a 2.0 it feels like its being raped by the turbos to make the power. and it feels too bumpy, he said a Ranger feels better in ride comfort.
it has killer mpg tho.

VW seems to be heading in that direction. I saw a commercial for the new Jetta and before they showed the badges I thought it was a Civic.

Too bad, I guess VW is willing to sell out to try to get to the top. Some of their desings the past few years haven't been too bad (except for the New Beetle, worst design ever. (yes, worse than the Edsel)).
