A tractor going thru mud with chains would make for a boring video... but is 100x smarter. Even decent tires would help, that thing was still helpless even after it got out of the hole.
They both looked like they had 1/2" or better, which sounds like a lot but really isn't. Not really sure how they did it but the back of the tires are caked but the front isn't.
The only problem I see in this video is that tractor doesn't have enough power to get those tires moving. I built a barn a few summers back for a friends dad who is a dairy farmer, and with a big-arse diesel engine his tractor was unstoppable, and we were working in clay up to your knees one week due to heavy rains. (Really. Unstoppable. didn't even have brakes. lol)
Thanks topher, thats about what i had expected. Nothing new really, the procedure is outlined in fm20-22 vehicle recovery operations. I've used this method on a m931a2 pulling a fuel tanker, as well as a m88a1 that got stuck. Its a little harder to do with tracks but it works
