Does my 89 Ranger have an Air Silencer? and if So How would i go about removing this?

It doesn't really have a silencer, but the whole ram-air setup with the valve to take heated air from the manifold while cold is kind of an engineering abortion. I've always found it best to chop these things out, and take air from right at the airbox by the fender. The intake in itself acts as a silencer, you'll hear the motor more once you cut it out.
