Changing gears from a ranger 8.8 to an explorer 8.8

I was curious can you replace the ranger 8.8 gears and carrier with an explorer 8.8 31 spline carrier and gear set. if you have done it please let me know. I have access to an explorer gear set.thanks for any info you can give me

The gears will work, but the explorer axles are 31 spline and the ranger axles are 28.

So you if you got some sploder axles it would work?

No. You cannot put explorer 31 spline axle in a ranger housing. The Explorer axle shafts have bigger bearing journals and are longer.

You can swap ring and pinions from any 8.8 into any 8.8, be it from an f150, ranger or explorer.
