might not it could just be the gasket have you over heated it lately

ok does it go through water at any rate , or have you been playing in any deep water
Yeah, Last night we had a big Rain storm and i ran it through the puddles on the street but thats it, and iv taken it mudding once.

if they were deep enough it could have gotten in there so for now you need to drain the oil let it sit for a few hours, pullin the pan would be better but not to necasary than new oil and filter, try to find out how water got in and fix it

Pressure test your radiator, if its a cracked head or blown gasket the pressure will be high and it will smell like oil AND exhaust in your radiator. Your parts store may have loaners, just put it on in place of the radiator cap and it tells the story. Read the destructions first so you know what your pressure should be-ish.

I had the same yellow junk on mine, but I wiped it off and check it every few hundred miles and it hasn't returned. So it might just be....MYSTERY JUNK!
Hmm! Idk. Im thinking of just swapping in a 4.0, what year should i get? my truck is an 1989, so like what year should i look for the 4.0?

most of the time thats just condensation. the oil cap on my f-150 looks the same and theres no leaks in my cooling system. dont worry about it unless your oil looks milky......then worry about it.
This guy has it right. It's condensation. Mine did that all winter. Wait for it to warm up outside, then drive it on a good long trip, and it'll be gone.
Now if you still get that water under the oil cap in summer, then that might mean you need to do more checking. But mine is always bone dry in summer.
Edit: It can happen if it's real humid out and you take a short trip too.
