Alright, so I started poking around on the Ranger today. I gotta get it ready for use. Some things I found out - The parking brake has been on for who knows how long. No light on the dash, and my own fault for not checking. Doesn't seem to work anyway. ( Wonder why... Heheh )
The wipers still don't work. It may be motor related. I can hear the relay click, but the wipers have -no- motion at all ( Put em on hyperwiper and went out and put my hands on each fixture, no nothing at all )
That said - The truck has a single bench seat. Is it possible for me to swap in a couple bucket seats without doing much fab work?
While going through the cab, I found a ball for a hitch - I know it's not perfect, but the Ranger's capable of bumper towing? I found stampings for tow and tongue ratings on the bumper, so I presume so. I've also found a 4 flat back there... so it seems it's wired for it, but.. is it actually safe to do so?
The other thing, is I've found ( hanging from the rear most leaf spring mounts ) some half inch by 1.5 inch by 8 inch or so steel hangers with holes drilled through them. They look as if they'd literally lift the truck, but I can't for the life of me figure how they'd work. ( I'll take pics soon, it's dark and rainy out right now )
Are there any common things a new Ranger should look out for, or specifically check? Lastly, I tried searching, but I didn't see em listed on here - Does anyone have links for digital FSM's or otherwise? I plan on picking up a Haynes and or a Chilton, but I know they aren't really for -everything- I could need to work on.
