well, if you're coming to camp Lejune, I'm 20 minutes down the road, and could show you around a few trails and such if you have time to do so!

If you get up this way (just below Va Beach), gimme a holler.
My son is a Cpl in Yuma. I was stationed at New River 79-84.

My only suggestion is maybe hit a section of the Blue Ridge Parkway for a slow scenic drive. Pick a short section though, 35 mph gets old fast and they give tickets (they can see you from miles away, tricky bastages).

Enjoy some beach down Surf City/Topsail Island, all the hotties are in Wilmington (college) and don't drink and drive. You can drive on some of the beaches on the Outer Banks, two up my way, dunno about down that way. Get a cast net and catch shrimp, or a small boat and gig flounder at night. Some of the best spots for that are on LeJeune (turn left after the Main gate). It's swampy though, you ain't walkin'. Good times.

Hand salute, Oorah and Semper Fi.

We stopped in Kentucky and saw Mammoth cave and WOW!! Biggest cave I've ever toured If your going by I recommend it lots of history in there too.

Then while we were there I thought why not show my wife and her mom and brother Ruby falls I ask they say they've never been so we go.

damn, that was a haul.

well, as you may know, jacksonville isnt anything to write home about. my grandpa used to work on base down there for a long time. they live down near beulaville which is a half hour from there. i know it isnt for most people, but i love it down there, big open fields and lots of woods.

i'd suggest you go down to wilmington when you get the chance, real nice place especially downtown at the waterfront. my dad grew up there and when my grandparents were still alive we went down there all the time.

almost anywhere will have some decent bbq, i'd hit that up as well.

going from MN to NC you're gonna hate the summertime. i hate it and i've lived here my whole life. it gets so hot you can hardly breathe.
