I've been looking at replacing my hockey puck lift with something a bit safer. I can't find any 1" body lifts that are ranger specific and I don't need bumper brackets or any relocation stuff, so I decided that I'd probably be better off to make the blocks myself and save some money.
I can't figure out what material would be the best to use, any ideas? I've never had to buy any plastic stock so I'm kind of at a loss as to the terminology.
 
well for 1" body lift ur running 1 puck right? i dont see anything wrong with that. an 86 ranger i bought once had 5 pucks stacked. that was sketchy

5 Pucks!? HOLY SHIT. Im a Canadian, so I trust hockey pucks and all, but jesus titty-f***in' christ!

The idea of epoxying two pucks together, and then using a steel tube as a sleeve in the middle (around the bolt, inside the pucks) had crossed my mind, but 5 pucks... That's simply stunning.
 
Most body lift spacers are made from high density urethane. The larger ones have metal embedded, but for your purposes, I'd say the urethane bushings will do.

Stuff is about the same stuff that pro hockey pucks are made from.

you'll find that many beside any pond that freezes over in the winter.


cheaper 'n wallmart,too.



+74932 on the uhmw.stuffs easy to work,and virtually indestructable.
 
I can get a 2.5"x 36" piece of UHMW through Grainger for about 35 bucks so I think that's the route I'm going to go
 
That UHMW stuff is unbelievably tough. We did a test in a high pressure blow-down pot and compared it to a piece of 410 stainless. The UHMW showed half the wear.
