My credo
"220, 221, whatever it takes."
1998 was the first year 16" wheels were available. They were part of both the Sport Package (4x4 only) and Off-Road Package. Sport Package 4x2's had 15" wheels.

The first few years they looked like the wheels on my old Sport Trac. My neighbor has a '98 Off-Road that he bought new with those wheels.

At some point later, around 2001 or maybe 2002, a 16" five spoke wheel was also offered. This is my old '02 Ranger Off-Road that came with five spokes.

All Ranger/Explorer 16" wheels measure 16x7.
