when i did the swap in my 88 2wd i had to use the advance adapter plates with stock mustang mounts from kragen. if you have access to a drill press or at least a vice and good drill/bits save your money and make them yourself.
my 88 4x4 did not need the plates. I just used the stock mustang mounts for a 1991.

also if you don not have an engine leveler get one. they go for about 60 bucks but I was able to slap in the engine and tranny together almost without hitting anything. I have used it about 10 times and each time i would have paid that money again.
