I just picked up a Galaxy DX-949 for a good deal, It was peaked, tuned and modded (blue led lights in meter and in channel display), Also came with a Wilson 2000 trucker SS whip and Astatic Mic. One of the added led lights is out in the meter portion of this unit. I can replace them myself as I'm no stranger to soldering and the like.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to make these lights dim with the channel display? I checked how they are currently wired and it really doesn't make much sense to me why they are wired the way they are. It appears that the installer just found power and ground and installed them... Are there kits out there to change the channel display to different colors? or is blue the default color? Does anyone know offhand what voltage of led I will need or will I need to add resistors to 5v ones to prevent smoking them?
