Light flare up when engine is revved up. Is that battery or alternator failure?

Many AP stores will test both, for free, whether still installed or removed.

Could your real problem be a low idle?
If it brightens just barely above idle, that's what I'd suspect.

Higher rpm, suspect the alternator. Never hurts to really clean upytour large cables' connections, including grounds.

Idle is about 800 rpm,I dont know if it brightens just past idle or not but in either case when engine is revved the lights brighten. No warning lights on dash on. I have had on several occasions had my accelerator stick.
