Today i changed my fuel filter out, and it was the factory filter... from 1989. Haha, water came out of it... is that bad? im assuming so, but what could happen? I bought stuff to remove water from my fuel lines.
Also whats the best K&N Air intake to put on my 89 2.9L?
Im also going to purchase a Flowmaster Exhaust.
I have replaced my plugs, cap and rotor, fuel filter, and it still does not start right up, any suggestions?
Thanks, Ryan.

My 2.9 don't either, here's a tip that works for me. Instead of putting the key in and imedatly starting it, try just turning it to the run position for 5 sec. Helps mine start right up! And just get the k&n filter for your factory airbox, it's better than a hot air intake kit that costs 200 clams!

Hmm Thanks. Also, my friend that has an 86 2.9 has a K&N Super air intake... its not the stock one with a K&N Air Filter Box... its different. He bought it with it in it... and i cant find out where it came from. I dont want a hot/cold air intake anyway haha, seems like a rice rocket thing.

Thanks man!

Water in the fuel line is bad. I would (first) figure out why water was in there, and fix it, secondly, flush your intake system, and thirdly, seafoam it. Many things could go wrong when moisture/water alters your intake system.

As to the K&N, I would just do the drop-in, if you want to go with K&N. The So called "cold air intakes" are only cold air intakes while the engine compartment is cold. Once the engine is up to operating temp, the "cold air intake" sucks in hot air from the engine compartment. In which case, is pointless, and contradicts it's purpose.

As to the "not starting right up" thing; I would first of all, focus on the water problem, once that's fixed, I would pull codes. You have a OBD1 setup (the plugs should be on the passenger side, next to the firewall), and most auto parts stores will pull codes for free, or let you do it your self. If it throws a code, post it here on the forum, or goolgle it, and that will give you a great place to start diagnosing the problem.

Hope this helps. PM me if you have any questions.

A new fuel pump should be on your list:icon_thumby:

Alright, thank you. Ill be doing that tomorrow, hopefully.
What i figured with the water, is that the truck was sitting for a while before i bought it, the guy didnt use it for like 6+ months...
