I guess I don't have the experiences that you've had. I've had one person offer to sell me something I was looking for, and I've had one person buy something they said they would. I've had speculators ask about what I was selling, but no commitments broken. I'm sorry to hear you've had stuff go poor, but I've had a really good experience with people on this board, their honesty and their helpfulness. I have seen other people get replies on their threads that look like they were placed for Flame's sake, but I've never had that personally. I hope it doesn't inconvience you too much, and that you're not put off to everyone on this board.

i am 1-1. one sale fell through, havent heard from the buyer in a while. i just shipped a hub to some one today though. i have purchased a couple things. speculated on others. but never backed out of a buy.
Its the anonimity of the internet. Its far worse on craiglist and other sites. People feel that just because you don't actually know them that it doesn't matter if they never get back to you. It's frustrating.

I GAVE away a carb and intake that came of my '84 2.3. I boxed it up and took it down to UPS and got a price to ship it. I emailed the info to him and never heard from him again.
One time I had someone make me dream they were selling me a tranny crossmember once...I lost $60 on that one.

That sucks. That's half as many zombies as you had planned. I guess you'll just have to shoot and reload twice as fast. :thefinger:
One thing that I've learned is that if it looks sketchy, it probably is. I'm talking about the doorknobs that can't compose a sentence to save their lives. I usually ignore pm's from those kind of people, whether they're about something I'm selling or not. Talk about throwing your credibility out the window...

I've been guilty of asking about buying something then either not responding (forgetting about it, my memory is terrible), or coming up short on money and not being able to buy. Usually when I come up short on money it's because I was expecting to get money in and something went wrong (builder isn't ready in time, or hires someone else even after promising the job to us; or something like my truck unexpectedly breaking, someone not paying up when they were supposed to, etc).
I try to keep in contact and let people know as soon as possible, but it doesn't always happen. I tend to over-extend myself a lot and with being quite forgetful, it's a bad combination. I am trying to work on that though.

I'm not interested in buying it, but I would like to see it.
I am an avid (almost compulsive) Ibanez player/collector.

I've sold things, bought things, gave things away for free (except shipping) and picked things up locally.
Never had a problem.
What are you referring too? What did you have for sale?
