Ford and Dodge out of the truck series?

I heard Steve Byrnes say on This Week in NASCAR earlier that Ford is pulling out of the truck series,so I went to look it up.This is what I found.Apparently,Ford and Dodge,along with Craftsman are pulling out.Any thoughts?

Well i would assume because less people probably watch the truck events, i know i don't. they just don't pull in enough revenue from them so they pull out.

It never seemed like Ford & Dodge put much effort in the truck series anyhow. Now Chebbie & Toynada can alternate being #1 manufacturer in the truck series.

The old saying "win on Sunday, sell on Monday" doesn't apply in reality. I can't figure out why any manufacturer would waste the money on and "Nascar" sanctioned series. I mean what does a rear wheel drive "Fusion" race car have to do with Fusion sales? Nothing of course. Heck Nascar got too big and greedy and allienated it's core fans for corporate sponsors. I stopped watching when Elliott stopped driving full time. On ocassion maybe once or twice a year I will flip on the race and even events like the Brickyard 400 have empty seats everywhere. The "chase" which was tight until the end couldn't even sell out....

Me personally, of late (last couple years) I'd rather watch the NCTS & Busch (or whatever it's call these days) series races...............IMO it all started goin downhill when Winston pulled out.

Nextel or Sprint Cub, they talk like its been around forever...............Jimmy Johnson isn't even in the same league as Richard Petty, Dale Sr, or even Wonderboy for that matter. JJ hasn't EVER won a Winston Cup Race!

They need to do away with the "higher ups" havin so much influence on how the races are run....................go back to "Stock" car with cages, and "Run What Ya Brung" races............F**K these restrictor plate races where ya know theres gonna be a multicar pile up. If they run 230mph, then so what, that wall ain't gonna feel any different at 230 than it is a 180.

Same car, different stickers = a boring race

Never have been into Nascar, the 30 miles one way is a dirt track and 30 miles another way is a 1/8 mile dragstrip/roadcourse. Both offer superior entertainment.

I have a few tapes of races in the early 90's and some back to the 70's. Sad to watch a current race after seeing those and see how much it has changed.
I used to run an oval dirt track car until I lost my job. I still go watch my buddies run. $25 for the whole family as opposed to $100 each to go to a NAPCAR track. We still watch the Daytona 500 because winter in Michigan... we need something to remind us snow will disappear soon.
