I have been throuh 5 trans. overhauls
Comes down to trans line to close to headers, how stupid.
5.0 multi port EFI
It was expensive conversion as I hired someone to do it.
Took a long time maybe i got screwed but I love the truck I hit overdrive a t 85 mph. Don't know if this is good, but I like driving it on the highway.

Do you have lots of metal residue in the bottom of the pan? I went through 3 rebuilds and on the 4th death I gave up on the AOD. I now run a junk yard 4r70w and it runs good. I honestly don't know if the shop botched it or there was something messed up with the configuration. The TV linkage is a definite culprite if not set properly. I checked mine religiously and also had the shop second check it.
I'm convinced now the shop messed something up from the get-go because he said he had to 'add' a washer that technically shouldn't be needed but there was too much endplay without it. I trusted him each time.
The fluid was red at all times but there was also always much metal residue in the pan that the shop kept saying 'it's normal after a rebuild. The filter will eventually take out all the crap. Just change the fluid and filter after every 6 months"
I'll trust no tranny shop again.....I'm financially scared with trannys now. From now on I'll use low mileage used ones if I have to go there again.
