What Truck(s) are good to rip out front/rear axles for SAS???

Hey I am in the market for a new truck, and was wondering what models and years of F-series trucks run solid axles??
I was hoping to find some year ranges/models that have both front and back axles, along with maybe a 302 engine or whatever else is useful for decking out a B2/ranger for the trails/mud.

Any suggestions??
 
need a tire size....that determines everything.
 
well the goal is to run like 33s or 35s, depending what I can get my hands on for my truck, and I wanted to go with 6-8" of suspension lift.

for that tire size i'd be looking for a 77-79 f 150 or bronco.

the 9'' and d44 will be a good fit for what you want to do.

do some searching on the site,there's a ton of info on this swap.

just wheel that. thiink about it, its got most of the things that you want to get for your b2 already installed. get you a small lift and some bigger tires and your set

no its not, that truck just has a 3/4 ton d50 ttb, he said he wants a straight axle front and rear
 
I dont want to run a fullsize truck for wheeling in the long run, they are too big. The trails around my place have mostly been blazed by 4runners and shit, an F250 is too damn long. (Hell, its almost too wide, but the extra width is the main reason for doing a SAS swap)
 
smash the 150 to death.....and have a blast doing it and learning....put a small body on it later.

i was just thinking that the reason most people go to solid axles is strength and the d50 is strong enough to run the 35's he mentioned.
 
No... that's a gasser 250 with an 8 lug 44 TTB, with leaf springs. Run, don't walk away from TTB with leaves! :shok:

i say smash the body off it and rebody later with a 60.....win win.
 
You're right, easy to 60 later. Also easy to 460 it later, as the poor little 302 will have a hard time pushin' that thing around. I had a regular cab short box 150 on 33's with 3.73's and 33's... dear God was that thing a dog!
Buy it, 60 it, bigger motor, awesome. :headbang:

Nah, seems like lose lose.

What I want is a Ranger or B2, but I can't afford a decent one right now, So I was thinking buy a beater truck with good parts for outfitting a B2 later (Right now Im thinking Explorer for the 4.0 and d35/8.8") But I was trying to expand my options beyond exploders, see what has solid axles that get used in upgrading rangers, and hopefully get a useful engine too kinda thing.

I want to get a truck asap, because if I dont the money I have for it will end up getting spent on something else and that'll just be weaksauce. No money AND no truck.... painful scenario... So the sooner I can find a suitable truck, the better.

One major problem with Explorers is they all seem to be the damn Automatics(I know they aren't, but out of 20 on Craigslist in the last 2 months under $1500, like 2 have been manuals), but they ARE dirt cheap compared to decent shape Rangers/B2s...

Is this the latest Year range that F150s or Broncos used solid axles up front?

What about F250s or 350s? Lets say I wanted to run 41" tires?
