not mine, but my buddys. we went out muddin in his gmc(that was his first problem) and once we were there we noticed the engine was over heatin, turns out he hardley had any water in the radiater(problem #2). he hit this one hole, wasnt real deep or nothin, but he got on the throttle, it backfired real loud and died. just wonderin if a overheated engine could cause it to backfire, if nott, what could it be?

thanks

It's a chevy...deal with it.

But seriously. What kind of engine? Needs some more details.

My guess is, over heated, compression loss, unburned fuel, hot cat, boom.

If it was overheating and then rapidly cooled by hittin a mudhole, Id wonder about that. Maybe let it cool, then add fluid and try to start it. Overheated engines will sometimes start after cooling down. SOmetimes, not all the time. But either way sounds like bad news for your buddy, introduce him to craiglist ranger ads.
