when i press the brake pedal, the brake lights come on along with the right blinker. the blinker does not flash, it just comes on. when i turn on just the right turn signal, the brake lights and the right turn signal both flash. any help as to where to find the problem? i do have the setup for trailer brakes and everything was done using wiring harnesses. there was no rigging. it happened out of the blue, about half a year after everything was done.

Bad grounds can do this there is a big ground under the dash screwed to the firewall above your feet on a 93 anyway.

I'd also check your brake pedal switch (the switch that is on the brake pedal arm). Check and see if it doesn't have some kind of metal bridging the switch contact points.

more often it is one of the tail light bulbs in the rear making contact with both the park lamp circuit and the brake light circuit, causing a short and creating your symptoms.

try to take the right rear brake like bulb out and see if the problem goes away. the bulb might be installed out of place or the solder drops on the bottom have worn down and become too wide.

take the trailer harness off and see if that helps.I've had a couple and they almost always cause problems at some point. And like Brutus said but check all the bulbs!
