chvlfrk 1994 Ford Ranger January 2007 Street Truck Of The Month December 2007 Street Truck Of The Month
A Chevy V8 Powered Ranger... This 1994 Ford Ranger belongs to forum member 'chvlfrk'. It may look like a normal Ford Ranger with an aftermarket hood scoop, but there's definitely more to it. That hood scoop actually funnels air into the air intake of a Chevy 355 V8. That power gets sent to a narrowed Ford 8.8-inch axle that's been narrowed 2-inches by using two right side axle shafts and leaf springs moved under the frame rails via stock Explorer front spring mounts and homemade rear shackle mounts. The Ford 8.8 was narrowed to make room for a pair of 28x15.50 Pro Street tires on 15x12 Weld Draglites with 7.5-inch backspacing. Traction bars help keep those big meats planted on the ground. The front tires are 205/75 skinnies on 15x5 Weld Draglites. Chvlfrk's fellow forum members liked his Ranger so much that they voted it Street Truck of The Month not one, but twice: January 2007 Street Truck of The Month December 2007 Street Truck of The Month
