Engine:

  • Stock 2.9L
  • K&N air filter
  • AGR high pressure power steering pump

Transmission / Transfer Case:

  • Stock 5-speed / Atlas II 4.3:1 (the best upgrade so far!)

Rear Axle:

  • Dana 35 with 4.56 gears and Detroit locker

Front Axle:

  • Dana 30 with 4.56 gears and Lock-Rite locker
  • Warn hub conversion
  • Heavy Duty front & rear driveshafts - Yarman Driveshafts
  • 33x12.50 Super Swamper TSL

Suspension:

  • Rear - 6-inch lift, blocks and extra leafs
  • Front - 6-inch lift, custom leaf spring conversion

Body:

  • Home-made steel rocker panel guards (repeatedly tested for durability in Moab)
  • Custom full-size roof rack
  • Front and rear winch mounts (no winch yet)

This rig has been very reliable through many miles of off-road exploration and organized trail runs in California, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon, and Washington. The next serious upgrade will probably be a 302 engine swap (the 2.9L has a little trouble pushing the 33's on the highway).
