Hey guys, i got a 88 ranger XLT 4x4 with a 2.9L i wanna get an exploder rear 8.8 rear end, dana 35, and a 4.0L. what i was thinking is just swapping my body on to an explorer frame that way the drivetrain and engine that i want is allready in and i just gotta place the body of my truck down. just wondering if anyone has done this and if they would recomend it? thanks alot! :headbang:

Yeah it's been done, but you should do it too. And post pictures when you do.

is it a very difficult swap to do?

Yes it is a difficult swap. Your still goin to deal with wireing if that what you was wanting to avoild. Than you got body mounts would have to be fabed, than something with the bed, I dont know if the ex frame kicks up more than the ranger(id suppose there not the same) so you would have to deal with that.

Really, pull your axles and engine, swap the 35,8.8 and 4.0. Frount end, its just 3-4 bolts on each beam, shock, radius arm, the beam bolt and what ever holds your sping on. I can have a whole frount end outa a rbv in prolly a hr-2 if everthing goes smooth.
