Yes, Another Sway Bar Question

The one I’m using on my green Ranger came off a 98 Explorer with the 5.0, it mounted exactly like the Ranger bar but was thicker. I found an even bigger bar on a 97 Explorer 5.0, but it mounted to the engine crossmember instead of the frame in front of the crossmember and would take a little fussing to fit. I went with the bolt on one.
Thanks again! I'm glad you mentioned that!

Did you pull the rear sway bar too?
Expo rear bar is very different and doesn't fit without expo mounts on axle (welded).

Like sarge I have the B2 rear bar on mine. Beefy and works well.

Is that in addition to factory stuff or what, will it fit the 93 also?

2011 didn't come with a rear AFAIK. At least mine didn't. So I just shoved a factory 2wd B2 bar on mine and ran extended links (1750lb springs, lift shackles)

Yeah, should fit. Measure for links and order as appropriate.

I took an f150 bar and bent it on a 20ton press to move the arms in to fit my 91 ranger rear.

So… I did pull the rear bar too. I don’t know what it’s going to take to work on my green Ranger, but I pulled it because I’m putting the Explorer rear axle in as a spring under axle and using all the Explorer rear axle bits like the factory traction bars, dampener shock, both shocks mounted behind the axle… there’s going to have to be some things modified to make it all work, but I wanted to go whole hog on it. Eventually it’s penciled in for a 331 stroker and transmission mods, so I’m kinda future proofing it at this point.

You are one very hard working man!

Would any of you know whether or not those older Explorer sway bars will fit the Edge which comes with a torsion bar?

Thanks, I‘m a bit slower at everything right now but I’m getting after it all anyway.

I want to say 95-01 Explorers. I have a suspicion that 98-01 would be bolt on bars. I don’t know if there was a size difference on the bars for V-6 vs V-8. The two explorers I looked at the bar was a 97 V-8 Eddie Bauer that had a massive looking bar and the 98 V-8 Eddie Bauer that was a little smaller but still bigger than my Ranger bar.
