So I saw a past episode of Xtreme 4x4 yesterday, the one with the Suzuki Sami that they end up putting the VW Diesel in. Anyways I kind of liked the idea they had with doing an exo cage and then for the most part cutting out the rear wheel wells and was wondering if anyone has done that to a BII?
the best pic of the rear quarter is page 47

I just watched that yesterday too. It was a rerun I think. I was catchin up on my DVR. I plan to do the exo sometime in the future on my X Sport. Little bigger than the BII but same idea. Don't think I'll be cutting out the inner wheel tubs but I liked everything else. I really like the linked suspension and would love to do that too and move the rear axle back a bit like they did. Kinda limited on the front one with the TTB. But when that solid axle magically appears in my garage....:icon_thumby:

I think that the VW diesel would be a little small for a B2. it works in a Samurai because they weigh like 6 pounds and are powered buy an 80 hp engine that makes 80 ft/lbs torque (guess at that because my 95 Sidekick makes 94 hp and 94 ft/lbs torque)

now if I could find a 2.3 Turbo and an 4cyl 4wd M5ODr1 and a D30 for the Sidekick ..........

I think it'd have plenty of power for a BII, it just won't be fast. I don't think I'd do it on a dedicated wheeler unless you have some $$$ just laying around. It'd have to be driven to make up for the swap cost. Otherwise, a turbo 2.3L might actually be a bit better choice.

I wasn't suggesting doing the VW swap I was merely suggesting the rear quarter chop and making new inner fenders.

Agreed that Jesse is HOTT but I don't think she is with the show any more.

i think it would look cool, i am waiting for a new daily driver, then stretch out my bII front and back, with cutting it up like their build, if done right it should look really cool. oh ya and jesse is gone but she did a few mythbusters episode while keri was off for having her kid

jesse is filling in on mythbusters for a while. But to get back to the point. I think the tailgate, fuel filller hose, and tail lights would make it hard to do.

Noooo! I lost my reason to watch that show over other truck programs now!!! Come beck, jesse!

shes been gone for like 2 years. you hadn't noticed?

agree on the quarter tube work. would be easiest to run fuel cell and ditch the hatch.

Jesse had some serious spinal issues. She left they show and is not doing much of anything at this time. Google here name 'Jesse Combes' (think that is how to spell her last name). She was a great fabricator. I really would have liked to have gotten to know her. She could help out around the shop!!!

Ohh, just to mention something about Jesse. I saw her on a Mythbusters show a little while back. I don't know if she was going to co-host once in awhile or not....

Anyone know why she left the show? I know she was out for a while with I think a back injury, came back for a few shows then disappeared again.

Haha, I actually did an article for my school newspaper a couple years ago about Samurai's.

Their most powerful engine, only has 66 hp and makes almost 75 ft/lbs of torque, lol
