Howdy ya'll! I am cleaning up the wiring on my 89 BII and I have a question. I swapped out my stock air box for an inline air filter that works better with my snorkel. On the stock air box there was some sort of ground plugged onto a nipple (hehe) on the air box lid. This wire joins another wire that has a plug (see picture) and both of these are spliced together and go into a grey connector (not shown). All of these are spliced to a wire that connects to a ground on the fender (to a bolt that holds the starter selonoid in). Whats the deal? I would like to simply cut out all the BS and run straight from that grey connector (which I assume goes to the ECU, but I dont know) to the chassis ground. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Awaiting knowledge drop...3...2...1...

Oh yeah, in-line on one of the wires coming out of the grey connector is a lump of plastic labelled "diode". If that helps...

OK, I deleted the A/C, so I don't need it. I am assuming I can just unplug the grey connector and toss that ground then.
