Is it the the "flag" mirrors on my 93 or would window visors help reduce the air noise? :icon_confused:

No and no.

If the windows are open, at least on the two 1995's I've driven (both with power "round" mirrors and window gutters) there was a lot of noise. But that's to be expected with the windows down?

Might be the topper too.

I have the low mount western break away mirrors but no weird sounds with any combination of my 3 windows down.

IMO vent visors make more noise with the windows up and a crosswind.

Noisy (when open all the way) without the bed cap too not worth getting newer mirrors then?

Kind of depends on what noise you have.

I know some newer vehicles that (IMO) are not really designed to be driven with the windows down buffet (almost thump) to nearly painful levels with various windows down at higher speeds. I have never gotten much of that with anything with just the front windows down though.

My '85 is like riding a motorcycle, it is loud but just rushing air. Louder with the rear window open and a side window than just one.

I don't know what to say about this. On its face it seems like kind of a ridiculous thing to be complaining about. Wind noise happens any time the doors and windows aren't properly sealed, that is just physics. Opening a window makes a big hole in one of those seals. Open a window and you get wind noise, not much to do about it. Slowing down will make it quieter, but unless you stop you can't make it go away.

In my truck with any number of windows open at 55 you don't have a conversation, you just yell at each other.

Rangers aren't aerodynamic. They have a pretty uprgiht windshield by today's standards, and they don't cut through the air as much as they push into it. You get a lot of turbulence as the air is forced around the cab. making minor changes to mirrors or window guards might generate minor improvements, but ultimately, it's about the aerodynamics of the truck, specifically the cab/a pillars and there's not much that can easily be done about that.

You think the windows down makes noise, you should try my half doors and short V-8 exhaust with BOGGERs, talk about noisy....

GF's Edge with one rear window down at 60mph is actually painful. The thumping hurts a persons ears and you HAVE to either slow down or roll the window up, there is no driving with it. Almost a pressure thing, like it rapidly builds and loses pressure in the passenger compartment.

A lot of 4-doors are like that. It is something about the way air moves through the rear of the vehicle.

Even my BII does it, but to a lesser extent. Our Escape was really bad. In the Escape putting the front window down and cracking the rear window about an inch would almost make it go away completely, but it made more noise.

I've had a full-size Chevy truck, an S10 and a van but this truck's windows are really really loud but I can live with it thanks all! I was thinking, it's the mirrors.
