Will the Front Bumper from Gen3 fit Gen 2 Ranger?

Like the title say will a Generation 3 Ranger 93-97 front bumper bolt onto a generation 2 Ranger 89-92 and look right? Had a Gen 3 valance rigged up with foglights on my gen 2 bumper and the bumper curves seemed similar.

Just trying to figure out what fits, knows where I can get a front bumper off of a 94 that's in good shape relatively cheap.

Had my ranger nearly ready for paint when a deer decided it didn't like clear parking lights nor the clear headlights, nor 94 explorer limited grille (those are bloody hard to find), nor the 93 valance either, hated the radiator too and did some free body work too sacrificing its life in the process...

I'm sure you can actually make it fit but...the 3rd gen bumpers are big, heavy and wrap all the way around to the wheel opening and you will probably have to hack a chunk out of the ends.

I have a 93 or so bumper on my 88 now, but had to remove the back mounting plate and drill a couple of holes as well as chop off about 6" of metal on both sides...only went this route because I didn't realize that I could actually buy a new bumper for a gen 1 for about what I paid for the one I have...

I currently have a gen 2 bumper that is going onto a gen 3...but haven't quite figured out the exact mounting...but it will require drilling some holes and using bolts as opposed to the OEM mount bolts (two bolts welded onto a bracket).

I think the difference is a couple of inches from the gen 3 to the gen 2 mounts but you may find the brackets are adjustable enough to make them work...

But, again, I'd suggest checking out a gen 2 bumper from an auto parts reseller to see what they are worth and how much time/energy/money you would spend modifying something and compare.

The Generation 2 bumpers do go back to the wheel opening as well, the Gen 1 bumpers were the only ones that did not. I've only ever owned Gen 1 and Gen 2 Rangers.

May just have to buy it and see if I can make it work, if not will just go the way it was before the deer, a Gen2 bumper drilled to accept a gen 3 valance.

Knows 83-11 rear bumpers fit no problem, currently have a bumper from an 08 on the back, giving the truck a much smoother cleaner look out back while still having a solid bumper on the back. Hoping to do the same out front with out extensive moding, loves the look of the fog light valance from a gen 3 on the front of a gen 2, just would be nice if the gen 3 bumper would fit it sure would make mounting the valance much easier.

Can't remember what the mounting bracket was like on the 93 but it would not work on a gen 1...might work with gen 2 though...I also wanted to pare down some of the weight because it was just too friggin heavy for my liking...but the reinforcements on those bumpers would be a good thing to have...just too much weight for my baffed out 2.3.

Might be worth a write-up if you have time as there are plenty of older Rangers that could probably benefit from the beefier bumper. Gen 1 bumpers, from what I recall, were extremely flimsy and I think I was looking into getting a better one instead of putting on the bent gen 1 bumper that I had...just got sidetracked and 5 or so years later had to find one for my truck when I started driving it again.
