So, my 1995 Ranger 2.3reg cab is still dead. I have to rebuild it, or hopefully find a new engine/transmission. I found a 2000 Ford Ranger 3.0 Extended cab for 500 bucks. Some dude's GF ran it into a tree. The fenders, grill, doors, hood, etc are jacked. Will parts from my 1995 fit a 2000 series truck? The frame is good, so is the cab. Would this be a good buy to either move my front parts over to the new truck, or should I just grab the engine/trans/wiring harness and throw them in my 1995.

All of the front end parts are different. The core support and bumper mounts will be the most difficult to change out as they'll require cutting/welding. Once those are done, the other 95 stuff should bolt on. There may be some differences in the way that hood hinges line up as well, but my memory is a little foggy on the details there.

I would lean toward putting the newer drivetrain in the older truck. Less Body work, and it's kind of backwards, to me.

Can you get a used nose from a salvage yard? If they've still got a 2000 the price shouldn't be too high.
