I have a 91 Ranger, 5 speed manual and it's been making an odd, gravely groan thats driving me nuts. Has anyone else had this issue? And is this serious or just what these trucks do?
Make sure it is not low on fluid. These are known for plugs on top plate leaking slowly and over time will loose fluid and not leave a big spot on the ground to make you aware of problem.
Did they change out fluid? Or just check level. The only way to tell what's going on is to drain and look for debris on drain plug. Other than that is hard to diagnose noises from a key board.
They just checked it. Haha, I hear you there. So now I take it back and ask them to do that? I would do it, but apparently that stuff is a major pain to get into. They said the fluid was clean..but I guess they can't see the drain plug if they didn't drain it!!
Also...unrelated question, my friends 96 Bronco is shuttering and sputtering violently if he gives it more than half gas, any thoughts? Ignition or cat maybe?
