Hey fellas,
I've got a 94 2.3 w/M50DR1 and sometimes it likes to chug a little oil, SOMETIMES. When it does burn it is on start up, and it burns for like 4-10 seconds. It's rare but It seems as if it likes to burn when its really cold outside but ive had it do it to me in the middle of July. It chugged today for a good 5 seconds and then a little more when i drove off (like 5 minutes later). Why? Whats goin on with it, worn valve guides? (think 80's GM 305) Worn Oil rings? I doubt I'll tear into it, I'm just curious :D
Thanks for ideas!
Derek

Positive it isn't just the humidity/water vapor?

If not, I agree, it sounds like valve stem seals. Or maybe even pulling some oil in though the crankcase vent. Change your PCV valve.

Hmm, I'd change the PCV if i could find it. Certainly doesnt seem to be on the top side of the intake manifold, where all those other wires are coming from.

it should b on the driver side of the motor. right between the front 2 spark plugs and straight down. Thats where it is on my 95 2.3

the pcv on a 94 will be on the driverside of the engine at the back of the intake manifold, between the intake manifold and firewall. It connects 2 hoses about the height of the split between upper and lower manifold.
