Why did a new Gas Tank Fill hose go bad?

Why on earth would you purchase this from Amazon?

Go to your local parts store & purchase a piece of either Gates, Continental or Goodyear gasoline approved single braided nitrile delivery hose.

This. There have been a lot of complaints on other auto forums about counterfeit and junk parts on Amazon and eBay. Mostly it's been about spark plugs and oil filters, but looks as though hoses are affected too.

because new stuff is junk nowadays.

I like to buy Motorcraft more now then years past. Top of the line aftermarket parts use to mean quality. Not any longer. It's all been sold out to the cheapest bidder.

But for reference... my last few Motorcraft parts were Hecko en Mexico.

Now I'll just go be a boomer somewhere else...

That is the reason why the hose is busted. Some things I buy from Amazon, some things I do not. Anything rubber related, high dollar, or where quality matters, I many times buy from the source or a reputable local dealer.

Filler hose I would buy from NAPA, West Marine, etc. Not from SunJoeUSA33 or QualiteeAutoFarts.

I wanted a CASIO G-Force watch, after determining the "CASIO Store" on Amazon was selling counterfeit watches, I bought mine right from CASIO.com for $40 more and received a nice quality watch with no problems.

These days you might as well go to NAPA or even the competitors for most replacement parts. Usually when I need something for a vehicle that needs a repair, I want the part in my hand that day instead of waiting for it to arrive by UPS, mail, etc.

Amazon service has declined badly since the pandemic began. Also, no one was talking about counterfeit goods five years ago, but now those are all over that site.

Purchased a second one and will be installing soon...would the air getting into the tank from a defective hose cause any idling issues? Had high idle last summer and now its normal but the truck is shaking. Almost like it is trying to stall but cant.

Hole in that line will cause evap codes. No running issues unless water got in the tank.
