Was wondering if anyone knew the name of a good wholesale computer parts supplier?

Lookin to help some friends back home with their plans to open up a small custom-computers/Computer repair shop, and they're looking for a good parts supplier.

Anyone happen to know of such a thing?

not wholesale, but they have pretty good prices

www.newegg.com

if you want wholesale, your best bet will be to contact individual manufacturers. (intel, Asus, nvidia etc..)

If nothing else, maybe they can steer you to someone who does their wholesaling.

Thanks for the tips guys. :icon_thumby:

With any luck, if it ever gets off the ground, might be able to offer TRS members some sweet deals on computer related stuff.

the shop i work at mostly gets our parts from dead computers/newegg, works pretty well, we fix alot of laptops, and get lots of unwanted dead ones too. if were building new custom ones, we order parts of newegg or ebay, and for repairs, we use "recycled" parts (we give 30 day warenty) my specialty at my work is soldering and salvaging parts from e-waste and "obsolete computer repairs"

I have had good luck with ,"tigerdirect.com" Quick service and fair prices.

Thanks for the input.

I've worked with Newegg in the past, always had good luck with them. Never did anything with Tiger though, hafta give it a look.

I've never been thrilled with TigerDirect

Anything they have you can usually get somewhere else cheaper.

I have a computer shop and have tried the wholesale thing before. The only way to get OK deals is to buy Bulk like 100 pcs or more. In the long run Newegg.com or zipzoomfly.com is cheaper in the long run unless you can afford to buy bulk. If you only buy 4 or 5 of a product newegg is cheaper.

I love new egg i have bought alot of stuff from them and never had any problems..

The thing I love about NewEgg is that if I order anything Monday through thursday
it usually arrives the next day.

The only time I ordered anything from Tiger Direct it took nine days.

I've had excellent experiences with newegg when it come to shipping, with most of my purchases leaving the same day I order them, and being on my doorstep far earlier than anticipated.

So far it looks like newegg is going to be the main provider, especially since I'll only be ordering parts probably in small quantities at a time. May not even keep parts stocked, as each PC that I build will be completely customized for each customer.

Thanks :icon_thumby:

Looks decent enough, give it a more thorough look-see later =)
