Who Makes A Good 4.0 V6 Ohv Long Block, Any Help Would Be Good --thanks

"Gearhead engines" sent me a rebuilt long block with more than just surface rust in all of the exposed cylinder walls just for your information. It had been sitting in a warehouse for who knows how long and had no prservation coating the bottom end and the bag it was in had a hole in it. I was was quite mad about that.

Yep. I've bought one and know about two engines from them. Two good ones, one bad. They've been around a long time - If I remember right, I bought a long block BMW 2002 motor in about 1986 that was a winner. The two others were for a 4-banger Subaru that was also good. The third was for a Datsun 510 that leaked oil etc.

Check with Jasper engines, they sell rebuilt engines. I have had 2 engines from them and they were both great, excellent prices too. Alot of garages around here are teamed up with them, sometimes with big signs saying "Jasper Engine/Transmission dealer".

Just bought a new motor through the dealer and it has a 2yr, unlimited milage guarantee. I might have paid a bit more for the labor but my mechanic told me to take it because he couldn't match it!

How much was the engine from Ford? I think I heard they arent much more than a normal shop's rebuilds. As much as I'd like to continue the OHV legacy when this one goes out (still runs strong at 250k haha) I'll probably upgrade to a much newer SOHC.

I always advise using a builder close to home.. If the unwanted happens at least the phone call isn't long distance.. Besides that, how do you threaten someone that is hundreds of miles away?
