i want new bolts... b/c i don't want to have the same problem again.
i was told these are these are torque to yield bolts-- meaning you're only suppose to use them once. if i can't find them, i'll get regular bolts or JY stuff

The differential cap bolts are not torque-to-yield (you're thinking of the cylinder head bolts).

Regular bolts should work fine IF they are the same grade as what was in there (gr-8?), and have the same type of head (I think they were flanged heads IIRC).

thanks. they are flanged.
i know most torque to yield are head bolts...but dumbguy from ford said these are to. :icon_confused::icon_rofl: oh well.

thanks! :icon_thumby:

Setting up a good pattern sure would get expensive if they were TTY. :icon_surprised:

yeah that was my comment to the "master" ford guy... :icon_rofl:

have an ace hardware local? they have some kind of odd auto nuts/bolts/fasteners/etc.

If you have a Fastenal nearby, that would be the place to go.

I looked at the D35 front diff. that I picked up for a spare, they are grade 5 flange type. Fastenal should have them in either grade 5 or 8.
