Where me with problems

I am not very good on electrical so cant really help you there. One thing you can do is in very dark area, pop the hood while it is running and look for any little sparks. I have seen some pretty firework shows under a hood that way. Not good for a truck to do that though.

The map/maf sensor on the firewall is known to cause some issues. Do you have any vacuum leaks? When was the last good tune up done on this truck? I have fixed some really bad runnig trucks with just a basic tune up. Some no cost fixes can be cleaning your AIR sensor, and water temp sensors.

Mechrick >With the key off, there should be no current flow through that wire. If there is, the alternator is bad...Shorted diode! Possibly, But I thought the charge circuit went through some N.O. relay. I bet it's giving voltage but no enough current for battery charging.

Momo, you'll have it all figured and we'll be sipping coffee looking at schematics. Hope you "get 'er done".

It would be a great pleasure, but you're a bit far to make the trip just for a coffee.:ROFLMAO:

Latest news, after changing the alternator, no more current leaks, so that was it, however, as soon as I start the engine, I have a fairly significant engine oil leak, the problems follow one another.
It's not easy to see where this leak is coming from, I don't have a lift and if I slide under the B2 I get oil in my face.

Congratulations on the electrical repair!

These engines, especially the 4.0 V6 leak from the rear valve covers draining down the block to the outside rear of the oil pan. Looking like it's an oil pan leak. Hard to see behind the valve covers. That is where it comes from, but there others that may chime in from the oil leak departments, we have a lot of departments..

Another small problem, to be able to connect my pressure gauge, I had to remove the Schrader valve because I didn't have the tip that went on it, unfortunately it broke, I was able to remove the piece that was left inside but I'm not sure of the thread to recommend one; is it NPT 1/8?
