I have a 1990 Ranger with a 2.3L DIS. The Chilton's manual I have for it shows the wiring diagram for the V6 but not for the 4 banger, what wire do I hook the tach to?

its supposed to go on any of the coil packs wires, but not sure, u better wait for some more input.
welcome to TRS by the way :icon_cheers:

Thanks for the link.

The tach instructions do not say but after looking at the link you sent me it looks like it goes to pin 4 on the PCM which is the same connection point as the V6. I'll have to try it out next weekend and see how it works.

I got it to work. The Haynes manual has a good diagram of the DIS system. It does connect to pin 4 of the PCM, it is a green wire with a yellow strip.
