I have decided to ditch my modern car and picked up a ranger last weekend to be a combination of a project and a daily driver.

This morning I was able to diag the dome lamp not working due to the door ajar switch thanks to a couple threads I read here and now the dome lamp is in working order, so that was cool. The tires are pretty dry rotted. I ordered some new wheels and they're supposed to come on Friday. I've driven about 40 miles since I bought it.

My buddy has a b2300 of the same year so I went for a short drive to twin out with him a bit this afternoon. On the way home the check engine light came on . I'm going to leave the battery disconnected overnight and if the CEL comes on tomorrow I'll see if I can borrow a scan tool from a friend.

Seems to be lots of great info on this forum. I think I will be lurking here a lot so I can learn more about the truck and feel more confident tinkering with it. Figured I should make an account and say hello.
