Whats size tires should i get?

Hey guys i have a 1994 ranger xlt 4x4 4.0 v6 and i was planning on a 3 inch body lift what size tires should i get for it also would i need to regear the truck because of those new tires all suggestions with be grateful

I'd say you can clear 32's safely. 33's would probably rub. You'll take a hit on the gas mileage but might be able to get away with it if the truck already has 4.10 gears. If not you'll need to go up to at least 4.10.

What size tires do you have on it now? Current gear ratio?

I used to have a 97 Ranger 4x4 4.0 Supercab, came with 235/75R15s from the factory but I put 31s on it, no rubbing. I tried 32s but they rubbed too much. I would think with a 3" BL you should be able to fit 33s, maybe need to do a bit of trimming on the inside of the fender if it rubs.

Post a photo of your truck. 33's will fit real good on a 4x4 Ranger of your year with a 3 inch bl. 4.10 will be a good ratio. Look at your rear end and see what the plate says on it (if it is still there). It will tell you the size of the rear end and the gear ratio. You have to match the front end as well if you swap out a rear gear.

If i remember correctly those trucks came with a 3.78 gear ratio and im guessing its stock because its never been lifted nor does it have a tow package on it

They came stock with multiple gear ratios... Also depending on the engine and trans.

3.27, 3.55, 3.73, and 4.10 are all factory gearings.

Grab the axle code off your door sticker, if you have a owners manual from the production year the codes will be in it, or google it.

Figure out where you need to be. Since you know what your stock/current size is, and your gear ratio.

Read up in the tech section. It'll save you from asking a lot of questions. Then try a quick search before you post up a topic. Chances are it's been covered, multiple times. I'd still put in 4.10's.

I had 33s and 3.73for a long time. Mileage dropped about 2-3. They won't rub unless you remove the swaybars and flex the hell out of it.
