I got a 91 ranger and i dont wheel it as much i use to so it just my dd now and its got 3in body and 4in susps and 33s. i believe its superlift coils up front and leaf pack in the back no blocks. And its a stiff ride which didnt really bug me before but since im dd it i wouldnt mine a little better ride I been tossing an idea around about putting a softer coils up front and removing the overload spring in the back. Posiable ditching the body lift cause its kinda uneeded. Maybe get more of a prerunner look even know its four wheel drive. Im wondering whats a good soft coil or whats a good setup. I would appreciate any ideas, advise, or help on this still seems like everytime i post something i get no replys.

Thanks,
Josh

I been thinking jeep coils but that sounds like ill have a bunch of steering problems is this true?

No steering problems from running a different coil, your steering will all depend on how it is setup, and the geometry of it all.

XJ coils are the ones you want, I'm sure 4x4Junkie can get you a part number.

Is that a Supercab I see in your avatar pic?
If so, Jeep XJ coils might be a tad too soft.

Skyjacker's coils are certainly softer than Superlift's (~410PPI vs. 550 or so). If offroad performance (flex) isn't your primary concern, I think the Skyjacker pt# 136 coils would work fine for you (the 136 coils are said to be 6" lift coils, but on a Supercab they typically come out around 4.5" lift). You might want to get the longer pt# FA600 drop pitman arm also. This should eliminate any issues you might have with the steering, making your tires last a lot longer.

Don't completely remove your overload leafs though, they provide support for the rest of the leaf pack around the axle perch. What you can do though is find some flatter overload leafs from a stock spring pack and substitute those for the more-arched ones in your lifted leaf packs.

yes it is a supercab and thanks for all the advise helped out alot
