What size tires are on you’re 2009 Ford Ranger 4x4 ? If oversized do you have a lift on the truck ? (Please post pictures) When I bought my truck it came with 255/70/16 on it .I was wondering when they need to be replaced what size tires should I go with ? I spend 75% of my free time in the woods hunting, trapping, cutting firewood and just enjoying the wilderness..(Not a picture of my truck?

I seen some one on this site had 31/10.5x15 bfg all terrain k02 on there 4x4 ranger ( in the picture it did not look lifted ) I think one side mudflap or splash shield bolt rubbed a little at full lock. Check elsewhere in the this site for tire size fitment/lift issues. ( hunting around I always find other interesting info on this site ).

You can put 31X10.5R15 tires on without a lift or a torsion bar crank. 32" tires will require a T-bar crank. There is on little plastic nub on the driver's side wheel well liner I need to trim that rubs some at full lock when turning left but otherwise has not rubbed at all. There is thread dedicated specifically to what fits what models and if anything needs to be done. I think in the wheel and tire sub forum. You mentioned having 16" rims. The tire size options are a bit different for those, so you might want to give that section a good look through.

I like the BFG ATs, they wear like steel.
I run 33x12.50x15, BFGs and have a 4.5" SL Lift Kit.
The front tires rub when turning sharp, more so when backing up.
Probably could use either a Body Lift or a higher suspension lift.

My current Ranger came from the factory with 31x10.5-15" BFG AT tires. I also ran 31x10.5-15 BFG AT tires on my 89 STX but it had a factory 1.5" lift. I think you should be able to use them with no problem. I now run 33x10.5-15 BFG KM2 tires and only have a 1.5" torsion bar lift. I did bend the front mud flap mounting brackets a little to eliminate slight rubbing at near full turn.

Mine are so friggin big!

There's an article in the "How To Tech" section about this with photos. I'm running 35x10.50-15 bfg's on my 93 with a 6" lift and some fender trimming.
