My truck has or will have had cruise control but once I do the ignition and carb swap I don't think it will anymore?? I don't know what is controlled by the computer- anyway, what is the 5inch by six inch by five inch square block thingy that is right behind the radiator on the drivers side, has a vacuum line connected to it, a couple wire sensor things in the middle of the vacuum lines....? WHAT THE HELL IS THAT???

you know there are times when you feel you bit off more than you can chew... and now I feel like I am choking to death

Might be the charcoal canister, it stores the gas vapors from your fuel tank (rather than venting them into the atmosphere) and puts them back into the engine during certain driving conditions, typically during cruising at a steady speed.

Mine has it and I don't have cruise, but with the muddied history of my truck that means little. According to the tech library, the cruise should still work.

The cruise control is either vacuum controled or electronic. The vacuum controlled system has a round can mounted on the driver's side fender and has to be connected to a vacuum source. The electronic system has box mounted on the passenger fender and does not need to be connected to vacuum. It doesn't rely on the computer. It's called electronic because it uses a electric motor to control the throttle instead of vacuum. so should still work. Just make sure to supply a vacuum to it, if it is vacuum controlled.

damn cruise hasn't worked since I bought it but would be nice if I could make it work!! :)

Is it vacuum controlled or electronic? My Bll is vacuum controlled and it didn't work when I 1st got it, but is easy to fix.
