I searched and did not find a thread, So i got an idea to start a thread showing/telling what you did to your Ranger/Bronco

This should be interesting, and hopefully this grows to be a big thread. Pics are a plus, but not required,

We had a thread like this on another vehicle forum and it was great.

I will start it off.

Today I vacumed out all the metal shaving off the floor where the previous owner drill out the iginition key switch, because he lost the keys to the truck. Put in a new iginition switch and door locks.
I'm not into using a screwdriver to start a truck.

:icon_rofl: I have used a screwdriver to start mine for the last 4 years.....

now I have "upgraded to this"....................

(.....the Throttle was invented to connect to the carb linkage....)

Well....today, I read this boring post to my Ranger and my Ranger said...'Stop!! Enough....Ahhhhhhh'. lol

I gassed up my truck and bought and installed a new set of wiper blades since we are having lots of nice rain we really need.

So boring,,,Eh??

kicked the tyres, checked the oil and turned the key. It started Woo Hoo, so I drove it to the restaurant, then the couche tard, then the hardware store and back home, good times.

:icon_rofl: Men..... just be glad it's boring .........and your not dropping the tank (Which reminds me---the next time I have to drop it---I'm going to install an aircraft type drain plug to remove water/trash).....bought some gas for my lawnmower---4.8 gallons gas/.2 gallons water.....I'm just glad I didn't fill up my truck!

I put on my new sticker since the last one got screwed up. And cleaned my windows! :D

Finally installed fog lights, been wanting to do this for over a year. Decided to order everything on Monday and picked up the last of the parts this morning. All parts are Ford, no aftermarket was used. 1 fog light is new, valance is new and 1 fog light is used but looks new.

Before

After--big improvement IMO

From the looks in the picture...you have pristine paint in the bed of the truck.
I'm impressed! Mine usually gets all scratched up with in the first week of ownership.

I try to keep it in the best shape possible, I got some scratches but I used some touch up paint, everyone says I should get bed liner but I dunno, I like the yellow. Usually the scratches are on the tailgate from when I put my atv's and bikes into it.

Today I let my B4000 sit out in the rain for the first time in a year and a half. Didn't do anything else to it as I was tired of working in it every day this past week and let it and I take a rest.

I looked at all of mine. Contemplated working on the choptop but didn't make it that far. I did spend a few minutes examining the front of my F-150 though, trying to work out a plan for a bumper and a way to rebuild my plow mount on it.

Hopefully either tomorrow afternoon or Monday I'll get back to working on my choptop. I really need to find someone to weld up my cage for it though, everyone that has promised me they'd do it so far has failed to actually show up and weld it. I have a welder (Lincoln 220volt MIG) here to do it with, I just don't trust my welding abilities to do a nice job on it.

Broke the window crank knob off this morning on the driver's side window of my B2, realized the damn thing is riveted on, got pissed off because of course my work hours I have I can't get to any salvage yards as I have to drive 35 miles to the closest one. Got to looking at the other one on the passenger door, and swapped them out so I could roll down the driver's window at least since I never have anyone else with me who cares about the passenger side window. Then I looked around and found the pieces that fell a part, got them all back together took a chisel and flattened and spread out the rivet and well fixed the problem. Should have taken pictures, never have my camera when I need it.

I watch millions of snowflakes dive bombing my truck like little wintery kamikazi's. The old hag of winter needs to stop this crap so chicks will wear less clothes.

Well, this wasn't all today, but it was in the last 3 weeks, since getting the truck:

-Redid all the engine wiring - splicing together parts from 2 harnesses - the previous owner replaced the engine but put in a wiring harness that wasn't quite right (wrong MAF wire colours, missing the EVAP system wiring, had 2 O2 sensors wired together etc.) OBD codes are gone now. redid the wiring for 2 of the O2 sensors etc.
-Replaced the wiper motor (on intermittent, the wipers would only move a few inches and stop, and they wouldn't return 'home' automatically)
-sprayed in a Raptor bedliner
-Replaced the driver's seat, and then got the flashing airbag code 46 and swapped the driver's seatbelt receiver (which also has the seatbelt pretensioner attached) for the old one, since the seat we got was from the JY from an '05 Ranger that had the airbag go off (and the pretensioner went off as well.)
-did a cut and polish to improve the paint finish dramatically

-used it to haul away the old engine and about 5 years of old car/truck parts that were in the Garage to the metal recyclers and got $86 for the stuff. Then, had to clean the oil off the bed/bedliner that spilled out of the engine...

Today I replaced my air filter, oil filter, changed the oil, replaced the timing belt & serpentine belt. It was long over due for a tune up. Last time I did a tune up on it it had 92,000. Today it has 237,520 So it had 145,000+ miles on a set of Autolite platinum plugs & 8mm wires that I think came from Schuck's before they switched to O'Reilly's. The wire boots were all seized to the spark plugs. That was the second timing belt which had 117,000+ on it as the original broke at 120,000.

In the process of removing the small dished washer from behiind the harmonic balancer to remove the timing belt, the little aluminum bracket that the electronic pick up sensor mounts too broke while reinstalling it. Now at low RPMs they bounce between 500-850 rpms. This didnt occur before hand & now does even after engine is completely warmed up.

Anyone know if that bracket is still available from the dealer or anyone have one attached to a dead engine they wont to get rid of. Its on a 1994 2.3 ,not sure if its the same for the V-6 engines or what years are covered.

Hoping to find one before next week end to take front of engine apart again.

Tomorrow I will be replacing rear wheel cyclinders & brake shoes as I have the drivers side leaking from the wheel cylinder. They are the original wheel cylinders from the 99 donor Ranger that the 8.8 came out of.

I will be instaling radius arm bushings & TIB bushings in the near future. I got them about 2 weeks ago from James Duff. Anyhone know if the original TIB bushings need to be pressed out or can they be burned out with a propane torch?
