What are the differences in clutch/brake assemblies

I'm swapping a SC 3.8 along with a M5R2 into my 85 regular cab Ranger.

I'm having issues finding a pedal assembly from an 85.

The write up here I found says to use an assembly from the same generation, but doesn't' state the differences.

Are there any huge differences that would stop me from using a later assembly from let's say an 89?
