what am i doing wrong here?

I used to weld 16g galvanized sheet metal once you get the temp right and surfaceground or sanded clean it is all a matter of speed and feed just like anything practice practice practice you will find the zone. Keep the puddle moving you can fill those holes. Sometimes too little power is just as bad it just depends on the material ur working with.

well when i redid mine i use the trusty TIG welder, but that comes from years of welding experiance and knowing that a fluxcore welder really does have its place in my shop, as a paperweight. if you wanna do a really good job, you need TIG you can controle everything much much better. but if your not into spending a ton of $$$$$$$ on a TIG rig, then find a cheeper shop.

I use ARC, its all I have though. Turn it down to 40amps and move fast!!!
And man, DONT CLAMP IT....Its just so cheap, and will leak.
