weber carb and intake

I don't think you need all that stuff. I think there are adapter plates made so you can use the original intake. That is what I used on my B2200. And, maybe none needed......

Go to Redline http://www.redlineweber.com/ and do your research. They have kits for just about everything. And, I think your original carb is Weber design licensed to Ford.

One thing you need to be careful of is that there are a lot of knockoff Webers from china and they are not the same. Redline only sells the real deal.

Stangpower,
I just discovered from another thread that your are in CA. Be careful and do some checking because I don't think the Weber will pass emission testing in CA. In fact they will not pass in most states. In CA they check for modifications and even if it ran cleaner, I don't think modifications are allowed. Check out Rockauto for a carb.
$195 with core and $235 without.

thanks for the heads up bro i appreciate it, with that said, i contacted the seller; seemed like a cool dude. asked him if it was an actual weber/redline part, or what not. apparently he is a distributor in atlanta for weber. does that sound right? he didnt sound like he was in a rush to sell me anything but the number i called was his bussiness number. actually took the time to research if that setup would work for my 84 ranger. asked me if i had round port or oval port (which i didnt know lol) but other than that didnt seem like he was a scammer or anything. i figure since im going to be spending money on this truck, trying toget it to run real good, might as well buy this kit. what do you think? i have a little bit of money im willing to spend to have it running right. anyways heres what the listing posted:

his listing is for a Genuine Weber 38 DGES Carburetor kit for all 1970-1995 Ford 2.0 and 2.3 SOHC naturally aspirated models.

This kit converts previous carburetor or FI to single Weber 38 DGES Outlaw kit with electric choke for a large increase in power.

Included is everything shown in the photo.

Any questions about this item, please ask. 770.596.2333

Please verify part number will fit your particular application as that is your full responsibility.

This is a high performance setup, so fuel economy will decrease but the upgrade in power is well worth it.

Includes everything you see in the picture.

What do I think???

If CA will let you run it, it is your money and your decision; but,....... I think I would call Redline (they are a California company and will know what is legal on their highways) and find out for sure. At the bottom of this link http://www.redlineweber.com/carb-kits/auto/ford/ they provide notes and contact information. Read the notes at the bottom of the page where they talk about CA legal.

Like I said it is your dime!!!

as far as emissions it sucks but im not too worried ill have to find away "around" emissions. lol other than that thanks for your help. i plan on going to the junkyard tomorrow and pulling the motor of an 86 that i saw today. it was t boned so im assuming it was running. just going to use the block, take off the head and get it resurfaced or what not, regasket the whole motor, maybe put new pistons. then ill order that intake and carb.
