we need a cab to box measurement

on our painting job, the cab is separated from the box, and off the frame altogether. for the graphics we want to paint, we need to know the distance that the cab and the box are from each other.

we have an 83 single cab with 7 foot box. we need to know how large the gap is between the box and cab, i am guessing it is about 2 inches.

On my 84 its only 1 1/4" (I just went and measured it for you. There will be a tiny bit of play when you tighten the bed down (I just did that as well replacing a fuel pump). Mine is a short box though, I dont know if there was any differences.

thanks guys, ya i was guessing it was about 1 1/2 inches / 2 inches. if i went for 1 1/4 that will work. thanks
