water pump making noise

So lately i have been paranoid that my water pump was going out. I thought I was leaking antifreeze from it turns out it is where zranger94 has a leak. Maybe intake or somethung. Anyways lately I have been hearing a sort of noise from water pump area. Will they make a noise before going out? Sort of grinding or bearing noise.

Check for movement in the water pump shaft, by trying to move the fan. Watch for the pulley to move.

Exactly what my ranger did sounds like a bad bearing or a rubbing grinding noise, its was the pump, cost only about 50 at vatozone

grinding noise may be the idler pulley

mine was whining when i started the truck then grinding. replacement pulleys don't have the shouler on them. remember to pop the front washer out of the pulley to cover the bearing when you reinstall. worked for me.
