I'm not sure if im posting this in the right section (little help mod) I have a vibration over 35mph the disappears when i let of the gas I thought I had a bad wheel but i just put new wheels and tires on and it didnt go away. any help. would be apreciated.

thanks
nick

you most likely have a bad u-joint. get under your truck , find your u-joints and see if they have any play in them. if threr is play thats your prob.

thanks mk, I have that goofy cv shaft style, I am missing one bolt in the front mounting flange, and when i grab the driveshaft at the axle it seems like the rear flange moves a little, is this normal, and would the driveshaft going bad act like a u-joint?

it seems like it has some play, not a lot mind you but it moves...

the flanges will have some play not much at all. the drive line cant go bad. but im pretty sure its a u-joint. i would go get new ones, if they havent been changed for awhile and see if it is still doing it. also check the drive shaft for dents, a dent in the drive line will make it shack.

Yeah, dents or a bend will make shake like SOB. I had a shaft that took the brunt of the truck's weight when a forklift moved it around at the wrecking yard and I didn't check it out too much before I pulled it. It had dents all over and a pretty good bend.

ok just so im straight the cv rear driveshaft has u joints?

does it get worse the faster you go? so you cant go over 35 right? if so its a ujoint. my truck dose it about every six months do to the 6'' lift and the 2-peace drive line. i cant go over 35mph it shacks like a crack head comeing down. lol

Your BII is an '88 which came with the "tulip" style driveshaft.

They are notorious for being bad.

Get a quality aftermarket shaft and fix it for good.

Several good ones available online for around $240

im not to familiar with the shafts on the b-2. but its the drive line i know that 100%

ok thanks guys im gonna start looking, again thanks
