Welcome Visitor! Please take a few seconds and I have a 2000 2WD Ranger, and am trying to track down a vacuum leak that is causing a 1131 OBD code. I found that the grey vacuum line to a control valve in the heater lines had overheated and fallen apart. Luckily, it was long enough that I could simply cut off the damaged part and reconnect. However, it still doesn't suck vacuum, It seems to lead down under the blower motor to "something". The black vacuum accumulater below the AC compressor is getting vacuum from the engine, but I think I have some sort of leak under the blower motor. What is down there? I would like to know what I am getting into before I start to take the blower apart.
The vacuum diagram in the engine compartment shows a vacuum line terminating at the accumulator, with no hint of what is downstream using it.
