Coil, "modified plug wire diagram" for firing all 8 plugs at TDC? I have been running that way and it's great, however, I lost the diagram and hoping someone has it.

Thanks!! in advance.

That is a bunch of hogwash (there used to be a bunch of people that thought they knew a lot, the system is dumber than you think), the coils only have 3 wires going into them so only have two outputs so two pairs per coil (and both coil packs fire simultaneously), the cylinders are paired in 1&4 and 2&3, don't remember which pair is on the left or right of the coil packs but if they're the stock coils they should be labeled.

The system is batch fire waste spark so cylinders 1 and 4 fire at the same time, one cylinder on compression and one on exhaust and same with 2 and 3 just 180 crank degrees apart from the other. '95 and later are sequential injection instead of batch fire there as well so that's where more efficiency comes in. Both sets of spark plugs firing at the same time just allows for more complete combustion and conveniently longer time between needed tune ups which is nice since the drivers side plugs are a pain in the rear (I have a '97 as well)

Thanks, but I'm not sure why you say Hogwash? It had nothing to do with the inputs, I get that. I probably worded that question wrongly, I agonized over it for a while while writing it.
What I meant was swapping "the spark plug wires at the coil" I looked at the firing order pics on here later and figured it out.
Was hoping for a picture or diagram of the top of the coils. When I saw the actual factory diagram I remembered what I had done to get both firing at TDC.
It was close to ten years ago, and a lot has gone on. It still runs like a Deere.
I also swapped in a 2000, 8.8, 4:10 Limited slip rear end with the big drums and an adjustable proportioning valve, 235/75/15's as the old 14's were getting to hard to find. Other than that synthetics all around. Rusty as heck.

I apologize, I completely misunderstood... you see there's a theory that runs around the internet that the two coil packs fire at different times slightly for emissions reasons and you can somehow rearrange the firing order to gain power... I assumed you were referring to that...

Anywho, I believe this should be the correct firing order, it got dark on me tonight but I can verify tomorrow on my '97

FWIW my '97 has a 4.10 rear axle somehow and I've tried I think 4 different tire sizes? Assuming you aren't driving over 75mph constantly as that puts the engine speed over 3000rpm but I've liked going a touch smaller than what you're running and settled at a 225 70 15 which is around 28" tall, pretty sure it came stock with 27" tires or the same size just on 14's (don't know, didn't get the stock drivers door with it), I tried 235's but I had to shift too much to hold 55 if there were any hills or even slight inclines... but it's mostly because of my commute and the way idiots drive anymore, it was fine at 60 but couldn't hold 55 in 5th :). I like the dumb little thing, in almost 4 years and 70k I have right around $2500 wrapped up in it aside from fuel and oil changes and stuff...
